I bought some small, cheap canvases ages ago – it must be 2 or 3 years ago – intending to decorate them, but believe it or not I’ve only just got around to doing one!! I guess it must be because I haven’t got any cards to make at the moment and I can’t do without my almost daily fix of a bit of crafting. So here is my very first attempt at a canvas. The surface of the canvas was coloured using Dylusions spray inks, then I stamped the numbers at the bottom directly onto the canvas using black gesso (which I’ve also used to paint around the sides and edges). The other images were stamped onto tissue paper and then glued to the canvas using Mod Podge. I’ve used stamps by Paperbag Studios, Personal Impressions and Tim Holtz. The flower was made by cutting old book pages with Tim Holtz’s Tattered Florals die, then sprayed with the Dylusions inks and light spritz of gold Glimmermist.
I finished the project and took the above photo of the canvas, then I suddenly decided to add a little black bead to the tiny watch cog on the heart balloon. This is soooo like me!
