SDC 112: polka dots

Another technique in the latest Craft Stamper was the inspiration for this card, and perfect for the current Stampotique Designer Challenge theme – polka dots!  The background panel was taped to a craft sheet and Broken China distress ink blended over the surface. Then the ‘spots’ were added by using distress re-inker droppers – squeeze out all the ink first (back into the bottle) and dip into clean water to result in a watery mix of colour; hold the dropper over the card and allow droplets of the mix to fall onto the inked card; repeat with other colours, and leave to dry. When completely dry I also outlined each spot with a Distress Marker in a similar colour. I have used Stampotique’s Sheer as the main image and added a skirt made from a length of ribbon gathered along one edge, with tiny spots added using a Pearl Maker pen.

  1. Thanks for sharing this clever inking technique, Angela! I will definitely try it. The resultant polka dots are uniquely different and create a fun background for this great card!
